Bethel Roots & Shoots is an environmental stewardship club for all ages. One of our primary goals is to enjoy being outdoors in all kinds of weather. We do all sorts of activities and projects, including the following:

  • Participate in the Methodist Church’s Green Church Initiative
  • Monarch Waystation
  • Amphibian Education
  • Nature Crafts Projects
  • Community Roadside Cleanup
  • Stream Water Testing
  • Vegetable Gardening
  • Walking for Water
  • Habitat Restoration
  • Precipitation Appreciation
  • Training a Service Dog

    Field trips: 
  • Exploring Vernal pools
  • Visiting Local vegetable farms
  • Taking Hikes

The club welcomes all children desiring a deeper relationship with nature, regardless of faith tradition.

Our after-school program is open to elementary aged children and meets at Bethel UMC on Wednesday afternoons. Young children meet every fourth Sunday during Children’s Church while their parents are in the worship service. Our teen club meets once a month to plan special activities.
